FORCE Technology Division for Maritime Industry turns 50
On Monday 4th May, 2009 the Danish Minister of Economic and Business Affairs, Lene Espersen, will give a speech at FORCE Technology in Lyngby on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Division for Maritime Industry, which constituted the former Danish Maritime Institute (DMI).

On Monday 4th May, 2009 the Danish Minister of Economic and Business Affairs, Lene Espersen, will give a speech at FORCE Technology in Lyngby on the occasion of the 50 years anniversary of the Division for Maritime Industry, which constituted the former Danish Maritime Institute (DMI).
The Minister will be given the chance to operate a new state-of-the-art tug simulator, and to walk through DMI’s entire simulation center, which now includes 9 upgraded marine simulators with visual systems at the highest level of realism. Up to this event DMI has furthermore updated and renewed several vital installations in relation to its hydro- and aerodynamic activities. It is also noticeable that on the day of the anniversary construction begins of a brand new wind tunnel - DMI’s fifth - which has the unique capability of testing vibrations of (bridge) cables exposed to rain and ice in the laboratory.
